True Crime: The Fact and The Fiction, with David Swindle and Lin Anderson

28 September @ 8:00 pm 9:00 pm

A unique event exploring our obsession with the darkest of human nature.

Former Murder Detective David Swindle worked on hundreds of murders and complex cases during his thirty four years in the police, including the serial killer Peter Tobin and the Glasgow Airport Terrorist Attack investigations. He is a regular contributor to TV documentaries, and recently toured the UK with a sell-out one man show The Makings of a Murderer, exploring notorious cases from a victim focused approach. Since leaving (he hates that word retired) the police in 2011, David continues to utilise his skills and international networks to provide multilingual expert review and support for families of victims killed abroad as a result of homicide or in suspicious unexplained circumstances.

Crime writer Lin Anderson is best known for her novels featuring forensic scientist Dr Rhona MacLeod, and as co-founder of the international crime-writing festival Bloody Scotland. Her father was a Detective Inspector in CID. Four of Lin’s novels have been longlisted for the Scottish Crime Book of the Year, and she is published in translation across Europe and in Russia.

Warning: This event will include references to violent crime.
