Critically acclaimed writer Catherine Czerkawska returns to Tidelines to discuss her latest non-fiction work ‘The Last Lancer’. Exploring her own family history, the book tells an intimate story of a Polish family torn apart by war, and of survival against the odds. Saltire Award-winner Eleanor Thom will discuss ‘Connective Tissue’, a novel based on the life of her grandmother, Dora, who escaped the horrors of the Holocaust to arrive in the UK as a refugee in 1939.
With both writers reading from books that are at once personal and historical, this will be a fascinating conversation about our need to know the people and places that make us who we are.
